review 1: The first of Verdon's books I've read and I will read more. Well written, if a little slow to start, and at close to 600 pages it could have done with a bit of an edit. The characters are strong and the plot is good, if an old one: retired detective thinks all of law enforcement got it wrong so he goes out to prove his case. There is a lot that is obvious as the story develops but the quality of the writing kept me involved. The ending feels a little rushed for such a long novel though.
review 2: Una de mis lecturas del verano. Leídas las dos primeras partes y con el buen sabor de boca que me dejaron no podía dejar de leer ésta. Me ha gustado mucho, aunque no es muy dificil adivinar quién es el malo en cuestión,al menos yo lo adiviné antes de hora, pero n... moreo por eso deja de ser una lectura muy entretenida y recomendable. Se lee rápido, tiene buen ritmo de lectura y no puedes dejar de leer. less
