review 1: In general the book is alright. Certain descriptions are little bit too long. I was not expecting the end. I couldn't imagine the murder. The writer is really good to push you to think a certain way and the next page, he destroys your guessing and you are like a policeman and retry to rethink about every events and you think that now you know the murder, until the next page.I think, when people see that the book, won a prize , they are expected that the author will use a really complicated vocabulary and we will need to re-read 3 times the same paragraph in order to understand. Time to time , a book with a simple vocabulary can win, because it is the way how the writer is driving his story. Joel Dicker did a good work
review 2: Quel roman ! Que de rebondissemen... morets. Ce livre est palpitant et trépidant du début jusqu'à la fin.Le romancier nous tourmente du début à la fin, qui est le vrai coupable ? Qui était réellement Harry et Nola ?La romance entre ces personnages peut paraître grotesque, mais la manière dont elle nous est présentée, nous oublions rapidement l'écart d'âge. La complicité entre Harry et Marcus est très poignante, tout comme l'amour qui le liait à Nola. Nous avons à faire à des personnages troublants, mystérieux et aussi attachants.Quant au mode narration, la façon dont est écrit le roman, nous avons l'impression d'assister et surtout de participer à son écriture. Ceci est très réaliste. Il nous tient en haleine, nous ne pouvons plus le lâcher, comme si notre sort en dépendait.Je ne m'attendait pas à cette fin, ni à ses rebondissements.
