review 1: I watched the TV series a few months ago and found it really good and really touching. I wanted to read the books as well, to see if they would bring something extra to the story that the TV series was lacking.Let me first say that the book and the series are very similar. It's been a few months since I watched the series, but there really isn't much in the book that I don't remember from the series. What the book does add though, is Rasmus og Benjamin's thoughts and feelings, as well as their parents'. Even though they did a really good job of showing it in the series as well, I just felt like I got to know the characters better in the book.I wasn't really planning on spending much time comparing the book and the series though, so let's focus on the book. It's a good book... more. I love the story. I love how it teaches us about a period of time that I personally don't know much about, even though it's not that long ago. It was around the time I was born, actually. I love the two main characters and the story of how they eventually come to meet and I find myself wanting to know more about them. I'm already looking forward to read the next book.I guess I wasn't always thrilled with the language, though. In the beginning I didn't like it much at all, but I got used to it and in the end it didn't bother me all that much. It just all felt a little messy at times and there were a few sudden changes in point of view that threw me off a little. The style was consistent through the whole book though, and most of the time the story was so good that I didn't spend much time focusing on it.I'm glad I read this book. I have a feeling it's going to stick with me for a long time.
