review 1: I am gutted about what is to come: the foreshadowing in this book is overwhelming. But oh what a gorgeous book, what amazing detail and sense of place and time. I moved to Sweden the same month the very first AIDS patients there started dying in hospital. This THIS is partially the novel I tried to write and never could. This is perfection. I hope it has a translator attached so it can find a wider audience.
review 2: What an amazing book. It tell the story of two young guys in the 80's in Stockholm, one raised as a Jehovah's witness and one in a small town in Sweden. Both are gay and they both want love and to be accepted. It's the story of them and their families, but also maybe most of all, the story of a horrible disease, aids. It made me laugh, cry an... mored just think a lot about our sociality and how it has been in the past, and what all people most of all want, to be loved. Very good, amazingly written and should be read by all. less
