review 2: An interesting espionage book set within the Marvel Universe. "Secret Warriors" was the proving ground for Hickman's approach to long-form stories and superheroic family dynamics, which later coalesced into his incredible run on Fantastic Four. ... morery minor detail of his story. While good, they lack emotional heft. "Last Ride of the Howling Commandos," "Night," and "Wheels Within Wheels" are the products of a truncated plan and therefore a bit more improvisation. In the end, they are actually the highlights of the series. less

Mainstream Marvel comics do not get better than this. Period. Unless Hickman also writes them.
