review 1: I enjoyed this installment of the series. Mark, though, wow, I wanted to slap him so many times! Unfortunately, having worked with many broken clients through the years, I can understand where he was coming from. He was just so needy and emotionally stunted that he couldn't trust his love for Stephen or Stephen's love for him. His considering going back to help "the Old Man" was born more out of a need to please the one man who seemed to have taken him under his wing through the years. His loyalty was really screwing up his new relationship. Fortunately, stronger heads (and hearts) prevailed. I do recommend the series, including the shorts, if anyone is interested in the spy, intrigue, assassin sub-genre.
review 2: While I do like this couple, they don't
... more hold the appeal of other Josh Lanyon couples for me. Maybe its the age gap or maybe its the Spy thing, but I find I'm glad these are actually shorter rather than longer lol. My main thoughts while reading this were how much I wanted to smack Mark. I couldn't believe he was going to be so stupid and risk everything, but of course by the end I started to understand his thinking. I'm glad he has Stephen around to save him from himself lol. A little more than a 3 but again still not the 4 star I've come to expect from this author. less
