review 1: I know you're supposed to read book 1 then 2 and then 3, but after realising they are stand alones- I read 1 then 3.I wasn't expecting too much. I'd read it was the least favourite of the series, plus- it's not about Sky so thats also a minus.I absolutely loved it though. I loved this one more than the first. I really liked how we got to see how the other characters were doing. I really feel as though i'm getting to know the Benedicts well. I really hope there is going to be a book 4.
review 2: The Benedict's are getting better and better! Each book is better than the last but I have to say this - when does Victor finally get his own book?! I agree, Xav is more than just charming and I loved Crystal as well, to me, her character was written beautifully, but I s
... moretill think that cool headed and dangerously impressive Victor is the best. So, I hope the author plans to write another trilogy about Uriel, Will and Victor - they deserve their own story. All in all, what I enjoyed most about this book is how the villain is portrayed. Contessa is just a human being, broken by the loss of her soul finder which is why she did all those awful things. You can't really blame, you have to be sorry for her. This was such a great concept because usually villains are just evil people whereas here we can see that a person is not evil by choice itself, there have to be some pretty understanding circumstances involved, as well. Naturally she would seek revenge after the loss of her husband, she's missing half a soul! This shows that villains are humans just like the rest of us. Not everything is simply black and white. The action scenes were great also, and there wasn't too many emotional scenes, which would put this book on the yet-another-fantasy-romance shelf. The Benedict's are well described which is hard to do because there is so many of them! That is why I hope for another trilogy, because I am dying to know Victor's story, there just isn't enough of him, we know so little. An enjoy to read, not just a YA novel, but something more, a well written story about how happy ever after just doesn't exist, there are always some bumps on the road, but the important thing is that we overcome it. less
