review 1: I've read these out of order and this one deals with the period of time after Taylor kills the Pretender and has lost her voice, her best friend Sam has lost her baby from the Pretender's assault and Taylor is trying to deal with the trauma and self-blame and escapes to Scotland to stay at Memphis Highsmythe's family castle, under the care of Memphis' friend Dr. Maddee James. While trying to work through the trauma and regain her voice, Taylor learns the story of Memphis' wife and fights suicidal thoughts. But is she suicidal? Is it induced? Is someone or something messing with her mind? There are ghost stories and history and a huge castle, Scotland scenery and sexual tension..... LOL, brother thought it read like a Harlequin romance at times.....
review 2:... more> This novel left me a little confused as the title is very misleading. Essentially, this is a story of a traumatized cop from Nashville who goes to Scotland to heal from the tragedy she had endured and who trusted those around her to help her with the healing process. About 2/3 of the way through the book the reader finally gets to the meat of the story when the protagonist learns people aren't who they seem. I enjoyed this book but felt like there was too much trying to build to the climax that extra storylines were fillers rather than essential to the story. Otherwise, a pretty good read. less

Predictable; but I liked getting both Memphis and Sam's perspectives.
