review 1: Judith James est un génie et je l'adore. L'ange du passé avait déjà été un gros gros coup de cœur, avec La maîtresse du roi je me suis encore régalée. Les personnages sont merveilleux, attachants, l'histoire est belle et émouvante et l'écriture magnifique et poétique. Si vous ne connaissez pas encore Judith James, je vous conseille fortement de la découvrir elle et ses romans magiques !
review 2: I felt that the author was trying to give the heroine an unique personality, but I just couldn't figure it out. Hope went around and around from being like a child, likened to an elf, being a seductive woman, and being an insecure or jealous person. Hope claimed to be in love with the king, but she got over it quickly enough. I wanted the tortured hero
... moreto be fleshed out more. There wasn't a lot about him besides his obsession with the death of his sister.The storyline had so much potential, but the characters just made me feel lukewarm. less
