review 1: This is a book that will leave toddler wanting to talk about all of their body parts and what they can do with them. This book is full of rhyming words that will hold a toddlers attention while teaching them what parts of their body are called and what they can do with them. The drawings are of young children who are just as curious about themselves as the children who are listening to the story are. This would be great to read when talking about the body and what it does. Lesson Extension- After reading the book have the class stand up with you and sing the song, Head and Shoulders, Knees and Toes, while doing the actions for them to repeat.
review 2: This is a very cute book with great pictures of toddlers and infants using different parts of their body and g... moreiving examples of their uses. This story would be great to introduce toddlers to learning about the human body and what individual parts of our body do, such as legs are kicking, skipping and hopping and our mouths can be used for talking, kissing, laughing, singing and smiling.I like how this book's illustrations show many children of different ethnicity for children in a classroom to relate to yet all our bodies all function the same way regardless of outward appearance. Of course toddler aged children will probably not notice this but possibly preschool age. extension- When I read this book I think back to the "Hokey Pokey" song. Playing the song and having children put their left foot in, right arm out would be a fun music and movement activity to followup after the book. less
