review 1: The name of this book is XVI. The author in this book is Julia Karr. The main theme in this book is that innocence expires at sixteen. Every girl gets a XVI tattoo on the wrist for protection.Nina is the girl from the story she says all girls cant wait to be sixteen but she sees everything the same but after she turns sixteen she discovers that nothing is the same in her life. I havent finish reading this book yet but its really interesting. She talks about in the story about how other friends act around her & what they think. She talks about how nervous she is to turn sixteen & not know whats going to happen. The setting in this book is in her school & house too. I think teen girls will love this book because its a book basically around there age. When books are around t... morehe readers age it makes it more interested because they get to understand better. From what I read in this book I think its a good book. Im not the type of person that likes reading a lot but this books is really interested that I enjoy reading it more often. The character grab my attention by the way she acts like a normal teenager acts.
review 2: I thought this novel was an interesting and engaging read. Sure, it has its flaws: the tidy ending, the over-the-top stereotyped best friend, some occasionally clunky writing; but, overall, I think this is a nice addition to the current genre of dystopian novels as told by a teen. Nina's concerns about her aforementioned best friend seem genuine, her anxieties about getting older are relatable, and her relationships with the adults in her life are believable. I wish there had been a slight more tilt toward showing us the world outside and a wee bit less internal teen angst, but i understand that since we are essentially experiencing the world through Nina we can only see what she sees and feel her feelings. And boy do I remember how messed up the feelings of a 15/16 year old girl are. I see that there is a follow up novel to XVI called Truth - I'm looking forward to reading it and seeing where the story goes! I hope we continue with Nina as our protagonist; watching her character develop has been enjoyable so far, and I'd like to see more of that! less

Awesome!! It defines our present society and the path it may follow. Perfect dystopian warning!
