review 1: I like the authors writing style and sympathetic view of Marie Antoinette. I have always had a fascination with her so I enjoyed how detailed this account of her life is. In the back of the book the author points out how much of this book is factual and where she took some liberties with the facts to produce a better story line. Even in the instances where she had to change something she remained as factual as possible making the book very informative. This book follows the life of a young Marie Antoinette starting with her preparation to be sent to France and ending when the king dies and she and her young husband are about to ascend the thrown.
review 2: Oui, oui, Mein Gott... Mon Dieu......La verità è che mi è piaciuto. Speravo tanto in questo libro, la p... morerotagonista si chiama come me e ciò mi riempie d'orgoglio, ma, tranne, ovviamente, il nome, non abbiamo proprio niente in comune. A cominciare dall'aspetto ed a finire con il carattere, entrami totalmente opposti. Comunque, saremmo state amiche di certo noi due perché l'ambizione è la stessa, anche spinta da motivi diversi. Ciò che, invero, mi ha lasciata con l'amaro in bocca è che... Le dauphine e suo marito non hanno fatto l'amore! PS. 3 stelline e mezzo! less
