review 1: I did not like it. I did go in the story.I think the writer spent time on description of certain situation or simple on certain oblect like clothes. I understand that we have to have a clear image of how the Queen Marie antoinette used to live, but it is killing the flow of the story.Maybe I read and saw too much books or movie about marie antoinette, that I knew almost everything already
review 2: I got into reading this trilogy because I saw Leslie Carroll (the author's real name) was on a show about Marie-Antoinette. I knew she wrote non-fiction novels, so I was curious about her fiction, especially on Marie-Antoinette, who I am a crazed-fanatic of. ... moreointed in this one, but I appreciated the romance of Marie Antoinette and Count Fersen, my favourite historical romance/tragedy. I enjoyed those specific parts, but otherwise I was none too impressed, as with the previous installment.I am going to read the next installment, but I do not have high hopes for it being any better than the previous two. less

Wonderful 2nd book in her trilogy. Again just sad I have to wait for book 3!
