review 1: Deep Down True is basically about trying to fit in while staying true to yourself. The main character Dana is adjusting to life after divorce. She has two young children, Morgan and Grady. Morgan is struggling to fit in with the cool kids at school while Dana tries to fit in with the town's cool moms. To complicate things further, Dana's high school niece Adler moves in with them. Money is tight so Dana goes back to work. Her boss Tony is probably my favorite character in the novel. I would have given this book 5 stars but I didn't believe Adler was a high school student. She seemed older. I know she's supposed to be an old soul, but I think her character would have been more believable as a college student. Juliette Fay's writing is engaging and easy to read. The book is... more funny and sad. I'd definitely recommend it and anything else by this author.
review 2: It was everything you expect in multi characters chick lit. You have drama with the heroine and her cheating ex husband, who didn't treat her very well throughout the book, however the cast of characters that did surround Dana, were fantastic. Not all however, you did have the mean girl, aging prom queen, the over aged jock, but over all you had a nice conclusion with the heroine finding love with someone who truly cared for her. less

Predictable but well-written. A light and easy read, which was exactly what I was looking for.
