review 1: Vengeance Bound had my heart racing with every page turned. From the first page, I knew I would not be able to put it down. We are thrown into a story of mystery, vengeance, and myth, and the action does not stop until the book ends. I loved how brave Cody was and how she fought the Furies with every step. The romance between Cody and Niko just made the book even more interesting. I loved that the book focused more on Cody and her search for freedom and revenge rather than her romance with Niko. Not only does the romance satisfy the reader, but also the action is equally electrifying. The way Justina wrote the action scenes made me feel like I was practically standing right there when it happened. This book is not like any YA book I have ever read, and I have read a lot. ... moreThe ending had me wanting more and those are the best kind of books. I highly recommend this book to anyone who is looking for a unique book full of myth, action, vengeance, and a little bit of romance.
review 2: I loved the heroine of this story. I loved her background story, I loved her personality, I even mostly liked the setting she was in. I just didn't like any of the other characters of this book. I can't even say that I hated them, because honestly I felt like they didn't even exist. I would have loved for my heroine to have found strong friends and an even stronger guy with an actual interesting background story, but instead I was disappointed with weakly broken teens and a lost boy who is just seeking for the next thrill and super girl. Even though I honestly believe this book had a really strong main character and what I think was an eye catching first chapter, the lack of strong co characters and plot activity leaves the reader floating aimlessly in the mind of an alienated heroine who, by the middle of the book, seems doomed to unhappiness and loneliness. I was both torn with wanting to love this book and hate it and over all I think it's a gamble to read. less
