review 1: I have read the warning, but I'm ok , because I know and love the books by K.A. Merikan, however I have read the foreword more than once, and I confident in their promise: "(...) we can promise that when the whole story is finished in the far off future, the ending will be a satisfying one". Because , wow, I can think at multi- possible scenarios and my mind is spinning. So, now, put aside the blood, crime, coercition, incest etc,etc ,what stays is a complex story, multi-layered, multi-faceted, with multi meaning . I think that Domenico is one ignorant bastard and that Seth isn't the best person in the word but only because with Dom and his family isn't his ideal environment and I 'm waiting his revenge on those humiliated and mortified him. I was surprised that Seth is t... morehe only to have no Italian nome, but it's smart that Domenico is so dominant and his nickname is Dom...maybe the S of Seth's name stands for sub...But in this book , all surreal and splatter, much particulars are real , sadly,tragically real: the mafia and his rituals, his modus- operandi. Then there is the sex scenes, hot much hot , of those that will bring you above the edge, that made you questioning , because there are no sentiments, no rispect only lust, coercition ...so I'll read the part 2 and to hope, I'm very curious but I know that I will not be disappointed.
review 2: Loved this one! Can't give it a five, just because I reserve that only for the most intense plots and emotions-maybe I would have if the book was continued and finished in one volume. I finally figured out what really gets to me in these romances: while the plot has to make sense, it's the degree of intimacy and sacrifice between the main characters that is the most important. Here, we start with two characters that are at first only physically attracted to each other but slowly and surely they fall in love and become stronger as a result. Can't wait for part 2. less
