Tad nu "Citroni dzeltenie" man ir tāda grāmata.Objektīvi nekā īpaša romāna nav - ļoti tipiska lubene, ja nu vienīgi nedaudz reālistikāka kā citas (un Zimeļvalstīm reālisms nozīmē to pašu, ko mums, latviešiem, tātad lasi - drūmākā kā citas). Taču pilnīgi notiketi nožēljoju, ka sāku lasīt atvaļinājuma pēdējā dienā - ši nu bija grāmta ar kuru rokās gribētos pavadīt dienu tā sakot neatejot no kases, nevis ņemt garus pārtraukumus lasīšanai pa... more vidu.
review 2: Agnes is having a really bad day. She is assaulted by her boss at the swanky restaurant where she works (and then loses her job) and her boyfriend calls and breaks up with her. She has moved from the small town outside Stockholm where she grew up to the big city. Things are even going downhill in her hometown, as she finds out the town's factory, which employs nearly everyone (including her parents) is shutting down. Could things get any worse? Well, yes, actually . . . Agnes is able to find a new restaurant job, but it's definitely a step down in quality from where she worked before. She also has an annoying new neighbor who has the audacity to use the laundry room when Agnes doesn't show up for her assigned time.Luckily, she runs into an old friend, Kalle, who is (coincidence!) starting his own restaurant. Naturally, he offers Agnes a job on the spot. Also naturally, he loves all of her suggestions, from the name of the restaurant (the same as the title of the book), to the décor, to the type of food they should serve. Whatever would he have done if he hadn't bumped into Agnes???The story was enjoyable enough, if it did strain the bounds of credulity at times. Agnes was our heroine, so I was trying hard to like and understand her, but it was difficult when she was unnecessarily rude and obnoxious to everyone -- except for the odious boyfriend, Tobias. Whenever he came around, she turned into a complete doormat. Honestly? It didn't ring true at all. It was a chore to finish, because everyone Agnes was rude to kept coming back for more. It made no sense. I did finally finish the book, but it was a chore! less
