review 1: This is a nice YA who-dun-it. Kicked out of one prep scholl, Annie is sent to another farther from home. Her only thought is getting back to New York until her new roommate is murdered. Annie is determined to figure out who the killer is. The problem is that there are too many suspects. So besides new classes, new friends and two totally opposite guys to be attracted to, You would think Annie would have enough on her plate. Still, she feels she owes it to her roommate to find out why she was killed and by whom. Nice read. Looking forward to reading more in this series.
review 2: Decent characterization of the MC but the story dragged on and maintained a slow pace for much of the novel. I never quite understood what drive the MC to take such fantastic ris... moreks - just didn't seem to be enough motivation there. Some of the twists were hard to follow and hard to swallow (stretched credibility). Still, not a bad story and likely more on the mark for the mid/upper teen audience it was written for. less
