review 1: why did i choose this book for my bookshelf was because of i wanted to try another author. and apparently i wasn't lucky at this time. i didn't know if the translation was bad or the book was really annoying. The hero Thomas, wasn't my fave hero ( even though Fia said Thomas was a deadly handsome, dazzling and so on ) and Lady Fia MacLean was a quiet attractive heroine, actually but she was too weak when confronted with Thomas. at the part Thomas mis-understood and accused Fia about something she didn't do, i thought the words come up from Thomas was a lil' bit exaggerated. but then, when Thomas asked for her forgivness, she just accepted all the way. even Robert told her to not make it easily for him.#bigsighhhhh...now i must confess instead of liking the hero and heroine... more, i did like Robert Mac... something and Duncan MacLean. i would say that they both stole the stage !. i always hate when i have to say something " negative " about the book i read ( i mean i don't want to offense anyone ) but i'm sorry that's the truth....but it won't stop me to read another Hawkins's books.
review 2: I've read a lot of romance novels and although this isn't one of the best I've read I would still recommend it. After learning it was Karen Hawkin's first novel I was very impressed. The only reason I didn't give this novel 5 stars is simply my own personal taste of adventure. Plot wise it didn't grab and hold my attention as well as the connection between hero and heroine, but it still was a pleasure to read. less
