review 1: I'll be honest, it could have done with a proof reader. If only because of the number of spelling and layout errors in the ebook I read. That said, it was an enjoyable book - perfect for commuting, and I did want to keep reading. The weaving of fairytales in and out of the narrative was very clever, and even though the payoff was obvious from very early on, the way the characters were written meant I didn't mind. I'd have been more annoyed by a twist at the end. It's not brilliant, but I enjoyed it none the less.
review 2: This was a really fast read on a Sunday afternoon. And it was super enjoyable. This book is about putting together some famous fairy tales into one story full of twists. I loved this book mainly because of the character of Lyric (the male prot
... moreagonist). Yes, he was annoying and the swearing and cursing was just too much, but he was still so lovable. The character of Aurora was also well written and I love that she was not portrayed as a weak princess but rather one who fight for whatever cause she believed in.I also laughed a lot when I was reading this book. There are lots of funny bits in the story. I smiled 10 feet wide on the happy occasions in the story. Well, you know, it's really the kind of book that is able to engage and affect my feelings. So, yeah, there goes the 5 star! less
