Review: The Brightest Embers

You can run from your destiny, but you can’t hide

Ivy thought that she and Adrian had conquered their fates. Yet with thousands of innocents still trapped in the demon realms, she’s determined to locate the final hallowed weapon and harness its unparalleled power to free them. But the last relic nearly put Ivy in the grave—there’s probably no coming back from this one.

Adrian’s dark lineage has made him the most powerful of his kind, yet even his incredible abilities might not be enough now. Instead, the treacherous fate he has fought so hard to escape might be the only way he can save Ivy. Their scintillating bond has been tested before, but never with so much on the line. Now fate will come head-to-head against true love, and nothing they’ve endured can prepare Ivy and Adrian for the unthinkable choices they’ll face…

Don’t miss the earth-shattering conclusion to New York Timesbestselling author Jeaniene Frost’s Broken Destiny series!

Warning! Mild spoilers below.

Well, its over. Jeaniene Frost has finished another awesome series with a wonderful storyline. When I first started the Broken Destiny series, I only read The Beautiful Ashes because it was written by Jeaniene Frost. I had read the blurb but it didn’t really catch my interest. However, once I did read and finished it, I realized that I was wrong and she did write another incredible story. Just goes to show that just because a series isn’t in the genre areas of what you read, you shouldn’t just skip it.

Now The Brightest Embers starts off with Ivy and Adrian searching for the final hallowed item that Ivy needs in order to save and free the innocent lives trapped in the demon realms and destroy the demon, Demetrius who’s also Adrian’s father. While Ivy is determined to find the item, Adrian on the other hand sees no hurry. The reason for that is the last item almost killed Ivy when she used it so there’s a good chance using the last item will cost Ivy her life. So what’s Adrian going to do? Let’s say that as the story goes on, both Ivy and Adrian have their own secrets though Ivy’s isn’t confirmed until near the end of the book.

Overall, The Brightest Embers was an epic ending to the Broken Destiny series. Makes me wish for one more installment. Let’s hope Jeaniene Frost comes back to this series like she tends to do with her old series. Not to mention there’s a little something that Jeaniene Frost needs to reveal so we might get a novella someday in the far future. Who knows? We might someday get a spinoff series about a certain character or two.
