review 1: This has to be one of my favorite books I have read this summer. Emmy's husband was killed in action, and she is grieving still as she decides to move to Folly Beach for a change. She runs across handwritten messages someone wrote - love notes, in books she is sorting. She finds many similarities between herself and Maggie, the woman who wrote half the notes, and in the process of investigating, heals herself of the emptiness and waiting she has stalled in. A wonderful read - profound.
review 2: Hands down one of the best books I've read in months. Karen White has an amazing ability to weave together storylines set in both past and present times. Her characters are well developed and have a lot of depth to them that you uncover as you read more about them. On F
... moreolly Beach did an especially good job of intertwining past and present. The relationships between the characters created a lot of intrigue and mystery that made you want to keep reading. You wanted to know what secrets the characters were hiding and who they were trying to protect by keeping them. This is a book that will leave you thinking and pondering how things might have happened differently if the events and relationships had played out another way. Fascinating and engaging! A definite must read! less
