review 1: Half way through the book I woke up from a dream where I was entwined with the charachters and the dark mysteries of their lives. This author awakens all your senses feeling the silky white sand of Biloxi beach between your toes, the salty sweaty smell of humid nights, the picturesque victrian houses with thier abundant gardens clear as day as you peer through the fluer de lis rought iron fences of the garden district of New Orleans. Cant wait to read this authors previous book On Folly Beach.
review 2: This book, a great read takes place in both Biloxi, MS and New Orleans, LA and is told alternately through the viewpoints of Aimee from the 1950's and Julie in the present. It also gives us a view of the two major hurricanes to hit that area, Camile and Katrina.
... more Really Great character development and a lot of mystery that keeps you guessing until the end. This is a story about Julie Holt who has traveled to Mississippi 5 years after Hurricane Katrina with a 5 year old boy, Beau, and how she becomes connected to Aimee and her family in New Orleans. That is all I will give away as I do not like to give a lot of the storyline in a review, it is for you to discover. I really enjoyed her style of writing and will definitely read more by this author less
