review 1: Well, I had this forever but couldn't bring myself to read it because it's one of the most awkward volumes in the series. Which I knew because I read it in scanlation first. I needed the follow-up volume to be released to read it in one go and concentrate on the tragedy in volume 15.It all starts somewhat harmless with the class and Pin arriving on their school-trip to Hokkaido. We get some lovely bonding of the girls who are in the same room, and teasing of Kazehaya. Sawako and Kazehaya get pushed together a bit which is embarrassing but they don't really mind - well.... until Shota was waiting outside of the baths for Sawake and they were sitting next to each other.... and they were almost ready for the first kiss, and Sawako was basically waiting for it but too nervous ... moreto show that and Shota was very hesitant AND... then Ayane who had left her mobile in the baths came across them, and both jump. And from that point Sawako and Shota can't quite seem to bridge a gap that is developing between them. Sawako may have managed to finally give Shota the words that she liked him, but she still has that problem of not initiating and not being the first to show tenderness. It looks like Shota has decided she's scared and now he doesn't know how to go forward.Ayane might again be a subtle encourager if she didn't have her own eye-opening crisis here. She realizes that she wants a love like Sawako's and Chizu's (for Ryu's older brother) and the more she talks to them, she sees that the guy who had asked her out did it more to impress his friends - and probably because she comes across as pretty mature and savy (having had older boyfriends before), so he might score. That Ayane won't talk to Chizu and Sawako about it makes her breakdown in a small alley especially sad - Kento comes across her and lends her a shoulder to cry on.Chizu meanwhile gets confronted with the fact that other girls think she might be Ryu's girlfriend. That other girls think Ryu desirable. Period. This makes her annoyed because she needs to contemplate that her closeness to Ryu might change, when he gets a girlfriend. So she confronts him with her annoyance and is basically flattened when he explains in his quiet way that he is quite pleased that the thought of some other girl being close to him upsets her, because she has been the girl he loved for years. And on this disquieting note we leave volume 14 behind.
review 2: This volume focus not only in the couple Shouta-Sawako, but we also get some Yano's side of her story and Chizu and Ryu's relantioship.Shouta-Sawako: so sweet! They both want to kiss for the first time, and while trying, they are so innocent and adorable. It amazes me how the attempt of the first kiss takes several pages, creating a tension for the reader and for both of the main characters. And not only that, every touch is described by one of them as something beautiful and lovely. Yano: she always seemed to me the most depressing character in the manga. It is not that I do not like her, because I do, but her story is sad and she does not look so happy either. Luckily she has her friends, but her love life is depressing. I am still no sure what is going on between her and Kent and Pin... who is the one she likes? I like both guys, one is nice and bright; the other is silly and funny, so whoever she chooses will be fine.Chizu and Ryu: hmmmm, I want to shake Chizu for not knowing her feeling towards Ryu, but it is understandable, he was always her best-friend. He finally confesses, and she says to him 'I've never looked at you in that way'. Waaaa poor Ryu :S less
