review 1: I really liked this book. It was a nice and light read with just a touch of drama. I loved the fact that Charlie grew up around boys but was clueless when it comes to dating and being a 'normal girl'. Also it teaches us a lesson that can't be taught enough: 'always be yourself because the important people from your life will love you just the way you are'. Perfect read for a rainy sunday. Enjoy :D
review 2: I enjoyed this book. No content issues! :) The main character is a tomboy who grew up with her dad and a bunch of brothers. She grows up in this novel, dealing with the death of her mother, trying to figure out if she likes more "girly" things, and of course crushes on boys. One of my favorite things about this book is her strong relationship with her family.
... more Her brothers and father actually play important roles in her life, and for supporting characters, I thought they were well developed."I saved my speed for when he lost his energy, and I raced past him. At the top, I bent over, now winded, and tried to catch my breath.'Being a forward has spoiled you,' I said. 'I hear midfielders all over the world collectively laughing at you.'""'Who's jealous?' I knew Braden was. I knew beyond anything that he would love to go to that game, and I felt terrible. But rubbing it in his face seemed the correct way to real with those feelings.""We can't let boys define how we feel about ourselves. You have to know who you are before you should let any boy worth anything in." less
