review 1: I need to read more Kasie west books because honestly that was amazing. So unexpected that I would love it and I completed whizzed through pretty much reading the whole book in two and a half hours. I think that's a new record. Completely adored charlie and that she wasn't a cliche girl and her character development was good. She went from under her brothers wing to her own person and I really liked that. FREAKING AMAZING AND IT WILL TUG ON YOUR HEARTSTRINGS. WHY DID YOU DO THIS TO ME KASIE? review 2: This was another sweet coming-of-age story, with a couple fun cameos from THE DISTANCE BETWEEN US thrown in, which is one of the things I love about authors who use the same universe to tell multiple stories. Charlie was a fun character, as was her background and ... moreher family life. I loved the relationship she had with her brothers and with Braden, how they would beat each other up and challenge each other, and how they never treated her like she was different from them. I liked how self-confident Charlie was, coming from that kind of home life, but also how insecure when it came to being a girl, not just another one of the boys. I liked the journey she went on, how she discovered that she could be both and everyone would accept her just like they always had. She didn't sparkle for me as a character as much as Cayman did, but I enjoyed her story. I hope West writes more of these sorts of books, because I can almost guarantee to like them all. less
