review 1: First of all, much better than the first one. Second, I realized this is a completely different story from the TV show and I'm fine with it. Now to the review, I really liked the way the characters are presented throughout the book, how each of them have their own growth and we get to know them through the different points of view and the back stories of all the characters.I really like the way the story is told, by using different points of view, because it helps the story develop and it gives out the story little by little and with each chapter we get to know how everything and everyone is connected. This book gave me so many feels and made me realize that the reason I didn't get them before was because the pairings were all wrong but now that they are going right I can't... more wait to see how everything goes with them. This book left so many things in cliffhangers and that makes me so mad and excited for the next book, so I can't wait to read the last book soon! (Specially the whole truth about the murder)
review 2: This is a 2.5 rating.Kass Morgan's Day 21 could have been a 3 star rating book. It started out strongly. One of their own is dead, another, Bellamy's sister, Octavia, is missing. Tensions are running high within the remaining 100 as three fall very ill and they catch as Earthborn spy named Sasha. Is she good? Bad? Will The 100 learn more about their history from her? Meanwhile, on the colonies, Glass reunites with Luke but faces the added problem of finding her mother and getting on one of the few remaining dropships left. When you cut out all of the love triangles or squares or whatever, the drama of Day 21 is quite good. It's very fast paced and interesting. One of my problems was that since I read The 100 a while ago and the TV show is fresher in my mind, I got confused. A. Lot. I couldn't remember certain characters or incidents. I was a hot mess. But once I figured it out, and re read my review for the first book, I was golden. My main problem comes from the ending. SPOILER ALERT! AVERT YOUR EYES! So...Bellamy and Wells are half brothers? You have got to be kidding me? Kass Morgan, get out of here with your everything and everybody must connect motif you had going on in this book! There is no freakin' way. That makes no sense. Morgan just wanted everything to fit so nicely that I found it insulting as a reader. That is the main reason Day 21 didn't get three stars from me. I was actually enjoying it. I could even deal with the cringeworthy Glass and Luke scenes because I believe they were written solely to be cringeworthy. But Wells and Bellamy being brothers? And Clarke sleeping with the both like it's The Vampire Diaries? Please.Just no. less

I finished this book the same day I bought it. I thought, like the first book, Morgan's writing was interesting and the flashbacks were a little more descriptive than the last book. I think I actually got more irritated with this one than I had with the first. For starters, the romance wasn't exactly built well, even if it was just leading off from the first book. Although I don't base a review on the romance aspect, it does eventually come into it. I got really annoyed with the amount of flashbacks in the book, each character's few pages were mainly taken up on un-needed flashbacks. I also found that I wanted more explanations than I got and a better storyline to go with it. I was confused sometimes between the characters, as some aren't described at all. I wanted more descriptions! The flashbacks? A fine amount of detail. The characters? Not merely enough. Come on Morgan, give us something legendary. I think that people who read the first book should definitely read this one after that cliff hanger, but be prepared for another at the end of this one. If you haven't read the books and want to start with this one, I really recommend the first, otherwise you will get really confused.
