review 1: This was a really good book and I really enjoyed it. This book is the second book in the Clockwork Agents series and it is definitely in the steampunk genre. This book takes place mostly in England and on the Atlantic Ocean. Claire Brooks works for this American spy organization known as the Company and she is trying to avenge her brother's death by a member of her own organization. She then becomes a prisoner of the Wardens of the Realm, which is England's spy organization. In the process she meets Lord Alastair Payne, a member of the Wardens. They work together to track the man who killed Claire's brother, but they are complications along the way. One complication is Alastair and Claire fall in love even though they are enemy agents who are only having a brief alliance o... moren this case. There is a plot twist near the end of the book that changes on what Claire knows about her brother's death. So read Touch of Steel to find out what happens next.
review 2: This 2nd book in the series follows up with Simon, who is a friend of Luke and Arden from the first book. It was great to read more about Simon and the things that he had been through during his time as a Warden of the Realm. The adventures that he gets into with Claire Brooks heat up the pages of this book. I am definitely looking forward to the next book in the series. Why, oh why, must they be published so far apart. less
