review 1: This is the first Corretti book I've read and I wasn't impressed. I couldn't warm up to the hero and heroine; his poor, unloved me started to drive me crazy, and her self-effacing attitude aggravated me. I felt the author plotted a story, got stuck in that plot and couldn't find her way out of it. I had to force myself to read it and it took me 9 days to slog through it. I really wish this series was a multi-author one. I've read and enjoyed Hewitt in the past - what happened with this one?!
review 2: Angelo Corretti and Lucia Anturri grew up together in Sicily, poor, unwanted and looked down on by others. They only had each other. Now Angelo was back to ruin the Corretti family which dismissed him because he was born on the wrong side of the blanket. Runnin... moreg into Lucia wasn't in his plan. What Lucia had to tell him would rock him to his core. Could two people whose backgrounds are steeped in shame manage to overcome their childhoods and find love? A great story full of emotion as they try to find their way back to each other. less
