review 1: This is the first Corretti book I've read and I wasn't impressed. I couldn't warm up to the hero and heroine; his poor, unloved me started to drive me crazy, and her self-effacing attitude aggravated me. I felt the author plotted a story, got stuck in that plot and couldn't find her way out of it. I had to force myself to read it and it took me 9 days to slog through it. I really wish this series was a multi-author one. I've read and enjoyed Hewitt in the past - what happened with this one?!
