review 1: I gave this book 3 stars because for me it was heavy on the suspends and light on everything else and this was not a romance that's why it took me so long to complete. Detective Tom Hanson and his partner have a string of grisly murders to solve and not much in the way of leads. Until that is Detective Hanson is able to determine that the victims were players in the local BDSM scene. Needing some guidance and inside knowledge of the scene, he turns to his former partner and lover, Gina, now a professional dominatrix. The Detective looks back at his relationship with Gina and realizes that he still loves her and would do anything for her now. My problem with this mystery it took awhile for Gina and Tom to get there.
review 2: RED was different for me, and sadly ... moreI could not get a grasp on what it was truly about. I did love the mystery factors and the characters, but something about the beginning lacked excitement for me. I was so ready to dive into this one, but it did not exceed my expectations. Kinsey definitely does have a way of telling a story and I think I would have really loved to see this story grow a little more, with perhaps a clearer start. The story was just a bit too scattered for me. I did enjoy the read, though, and there's no doubt about that. Kate Kinsey will be on my list of authors to keep an eye out for. less
