review 1: Seducing Miss Dunaway is a short novella about a strong minded girl who decides to defy society's expectations and do what she wants with her life. Over the course of the novella she becomes a woman, still doing what she wants with her life, but finding love in the most unexpected place. This was a satisfying read, but like many novellas the ending was abrupt and left me wanting more from these characters. Still, this book was worth the read.
review 2: Pleasant short novella about a young woman who is determined to serve the poor in Victorian era London, so she enlists the aid of a young man at a dinner party to help her dissuade her parents and would-be fiance from marrying her off.Fast forward 12 years: she is indeed the director of an orphanage in a seedy... more part of the city and her partner in crime reappears. Turns out they had both been remembering their night of passionate kisses for 12 years!Silly but kind of fun. less
