review 1: This free download was almost as long as other author's main works. I really appreciate how many free downloads Kate Sherwood has provided as part of this series. This to me was one of the best ones yet. Rather than a simple "scene in the life of", this novella really touches on some serious relationship issues and gives Jeff and Evan more insight into Dan's past that makes it so hard for him to open up and trust. I have loved Chris this entire series but I love him even more now if that's possible. Great addition to the series - definite not one to skip if you are only reading the main books.
review 2: It was in Dark Horse that I fell in love with Dan. There's just something about him that brings out this urge to protect him, and since the beginning I got
... more the feeling that this man had a painful past. In this novella you get a peek at just some of what Dan is hiding beneath the surface; and not just Dan but Evan and Jeff as well. Of course Chris is a strong presence in this story, since he is such an essential part of Dan's life too. I truly love Dan & Chris' relationship; their closeness just gives me the warm fuzzies b/c it's just so special to witness and I like how Dan, Jeff, & Evan keep working at their relationship. It's a rough and exciting ride, but they're giving it their all to make it work. A really enjoyable read. Looking forward to the next in the series. less
