review 1: Well that was interesting. Not at all what I thought it would be. Ms. Sherwood has certainly knocked me on my ass. What a great introduction to her work. Not an easy story to read by any means but it was told rather well, so of course I liked it. The end was a bit fast but it is a short story so I will deal with it. I would love to see a longer story with Cade and Aiden both before and after this trip/ordeal.
review 2: Cade and Aiden come from different worlds. Aiden has everything--money, privilege, opportunities, a protective and loving family. Cade's parents are uncaring drunks. He's struggled to get where he is and deeply regrets some of things he was forced to do to rise above his heritage. Cade is painfully aware of the differences between Aiden and hims... moreelf, and things boil over when someone from his ugly past turns up at Aiden's family vacation home. An entertaining and touching story. I felt, however, that the story wrapped up a little too quickly. It seemed Aiden came to grips with Cade's past in a matter of minutes--a little unrealistic, I think. less
