review 1: Alright, let's be honest here, quite a few things in this set-up were pretty ridiculous. And they kind of all center around Jack. Jack has the emotional maturity of a five-year old, I kid you not. Affection transference? Seriously? And how blind and insensitive can anyone be? Holy crap, Jack, I wanted to slap you so hard. Of course, only to trigger communication between your limbic system and your frontal lobe, 'cause that's obviously not the default mode with you. Jeez.The thing is, despite Jack's kind of ridiculous behaviour and ideas, he was also endearing in many ways. And Noah? Noah I really did love, pretty much unconditionally. He was shy, but no push-over, and he kept Jack on his toes. And in the end, this book was FUN. It was lighthearted, easy, short and well wri... moretten, something that made me laugh and made me have a good time. Just for that I have to give it four stars.
review 2: It's a cute story. Old high-school colleagues meet up in totally different circumstances years afterward. Instant chemistry from both sides yet one lets logic (his term of logic, that is) and ambitions get in the way and decides to date the other's sister instead. It would've brought a lot of misery and drama, but (thank god) after one designed date with said sister Jack, the daft bugger, realizes his mistakes. Not that he's spared the anxiety when things don't turn out as he expected (serves him right). At least for a bit.Jack may sound like a jerk with how he treated Noah. And Noah appears like such a pushover at times. But I like that the author didn't make the case so for long. A good easy reading. less
