review 1: I think this book can be summed up in one word: OverkillHoly Shit is this bad! I got to chapter 3 and could not continue. The main character is an annoying super person, supersonic alien affairs person-thing. She is faster, stronger, smarter, better than anyone else and if you don't know it she will let you know every two pages of how awesome she is. It goes into my complete shite shelve NOW!
review 2: I wasn't sure of this book when I first started reading it but I quickly got pulled into the story. This is a romance in the best sense of the word. I personally saw parallels to one of my favorite classic romances by Johanna Lindsey "Warrior Woman": tall, smart, kick ass woman set apart from the rest of her society meets barbarian warrior alien and reluctant
... morely falls in love. (Not in any way meant as a criticism! I don't know if anyone else would see the connection who wasn't also a fan of Warrior Woman.) Beyond the minor plot connection, this is a competently unique story. I highly enjoyed the world and characters that Allred built less
