review 1: Confused, Katherine Pancol is confused and wants to do everything at the same time, which results in a book that makes you smile and wince alternatively because it was not meant for one type of reader, it is:a) pop lit, summer readb) psychoanalysis - but then after part 2 and now reading part 3, I feel the characters might be deep because they're people she met in her real life, esp that they are becoming a bit too repetitive and very clearly defined, not as complex as one thought, it makes me like part 1 (les yeux jaunes des crocodiles) much less than i thought -it's like she's gone through some form of self-exploration and can look at characters through that length and that's really cool but she's pushing it a bitc) magic realism but in a very kitsch way, that offended a... moren fan of latin american realismo magico , i mean please, a dash of new age is only good when it goes with the voice of the book d) pure pink sticky icky chick's lit with this josephine-phillip love story where he just wants to take care of her, offended as a feministwill continue reading the book anyway, i have to say it's a good plot and the characters kind of grew on meciao
review 2: El estilo no es bueno (la autora se lía con los puntos de vista y mezcla la primera y la tercera persona en un mismo párrafo); la historia se resuelve de forma precipitada después de dar vueltas sobre lo mismo durante páginas y más páginas; el intento de introducir una novela dentro de la novela no tiene ni pies ni cabeza; los personajes son cada vez más insoportables. No esperaba gran cosa, pero me ha decepcionado. El primer libro no estaba mal, el segundo era pasable y este es un despropósito. less
