review 1: It was a sweet story of love. There was romance, anguish, terror, misunderstandings, and happy endings for all. It's definitely a feel good story that's meant to give you warm, fluffy feelings. My only complaint is that it became a little formulaic at times and the characters fell into tragic hero/heroine stereotypes. I would have liked a little more character development and uniqueness. However, if someone loves romance and happy endings then this is definitely the book for them. The writing style works and wasn't rough or jarring. Sometimes it felt a little redundant, but I'm not one for a lot of mushy or emotional love scenes.
review 2: I recieved this book through a First Reads give away, and after reading the synopsis on the back of the book, I was expect
... moreing a tense thriller filled with dramatic near death moments. That wasn't the book I ended up reading. Yes, the plot line with the Manhattan serial killer is there, and relevant to the story. But the romances between the characters created in the first part of the book are the real reason this book is enjoyable. Her characters are endlessly charming, and easy to care for, to the point that I felt more invested in making sure they ended up in happy couples than I was in finding the book's killer. It's a very enjoyable book. less
