Review:
When Jackson Cane left for college, he promised Ember Rose Warren he would be back for her. 10 years later Ember is a single parent who can’t open herself to love after experiencing the biggest betrayal of her life. She has picked up the pieces without him. He thought she gave up on him after she promised to wait for him, and tried to move on without her.
Jackson comes back to his small, resort hometown of Oceanside to try to figure out what to do with his life. He never thought he would see Ember again, but once he does all of the old feelings come rushing back, along with all of the feelings he had tried to suppress for those long, lonely years. He’s determined to get her back.
As truths are revealed, we root for hard for these two get their shot at a second chance and for those who tried to keep them apart and try to hurt them to get what they deserve. I could not put this book down. Tia Louise gives us the story of Jackson, Ember (and Coco too), without getting us lost in the back story. I loved her writing style. Definitely recommend reading When We Touch if you haven’t done so already.
