review 1: A picture book that will most likely appeal to parents (and grand-parents) more than it will to children, though the six and seven-year-olds will enjoy the silly answers to interview questions. The Beatles Were Fab (and They Were Funny) gives a brief overview of their rise to fame and of Beatlemania, told with a strong emphasis on humour. There is just enough information here to bring back memories for those of us old enough to remember the sixties, probably provide a tidbit of new trivia for all fans, and serve as a nice introduction for everyone else. Wonderful stylized illustrations work well with the writing.
review 2: This may be a book for kids, but I learned a few things that I didn't know about the Beatles (granted, what I don't know about the Beatles i
... mores probably a lot). This was a fantastic, fun little read that starts from before the group started and always highlights the Beatles' sense of humor and all the fun they had. The illustrations are fantastic as well. This should be on several children's book awards lists! less
