review 1: What a beautiful tale of the lives of two women, and I enjoyed the shifts between storylines. This was a quick read full of imagery and some intrigue. I figured out the twist well before the reveal; I wish it had been more of a surprise. And while the conclusion was well done, I wanted to know more about the characters in the end -- partially because I liked getting to know them and didn't want to leave them after the last page. review 2: Very good story. I read straight through, not putting it down. I enjoyed the comparisons between the 2 women. They each started out being insecure and merely obedient. In the end, they became their own individual. Just the way perfume is meant to be. It goes to show you that whether you have a sucky life and terrible circumst... moreances or a padded life being protected, YOUR life is what YOU make of it.
