review 1: The text Otto the Book Bear by Kate Cleminson was a well written children's book as it appeals to a child's imagination. This piece of writing feeds off the phase that many young children are currently in, in which individuals interact with their stuffed animals as they come to life. My favorite part was the end of the story when the illustrations portrayed a congregation, in the aisles of the library, consisting of many classic characters such as Humpty Dumpty, Rapunzel, The Three Mice and many others.
review 2: I personally thought this was very adorable, I loved the pictures of tiny Otto navigating around a full-sized person world. However, it wasn't a big winner with Lu. In the book, Otto sets off on his own, and finds he is lonely and overwhelmed, before
... more discovering a bunch of book friends at the library. For whatever reason, the "sad part" of lonely Otto eclipses the happy resolution. I don't think it's inappropriately tragic or anything like that, but I think we all have books that we read as kids that for whatever reason, struck us as extremely sad, and it looks like this is one of hers. less

Great story for kids who like books...and a bear from within a book who finds a life outside of one.

I really liked it, but I suspect I liked it a lot more than the kid did.
