review 1: This is one of those cases where the cover is better than the actual content. Lou meets mysterious Christian, knows he is hiding something, but gets close to him anyway. Turns out she's hiding a whole lot of stuff as well, much which involves Christian, unbeknownst to him. While it wasn't terrible, I had a problem with the teen voices, which were a bit stilted, as well as the plot twists. Somehow, it was less than satisfying.
review 2: Things start off like most possible romances. Lou meets Christian by chance, and then starts realizing that there is something not quite on the up and up about him. As the book moves along, it's clear that not only is Christian keeping secrets, but so is Lou. Readers will be hurled from one point to the other in this rollerco
... moreaster ride of a novel that has several layers of secrets to unwrap. While I enjoyed it and could certainly relate to some of the tough choices Lou faced, I wasn't really all that surprised with the big revelation about Poppy's death. There was so much racing around that at times I wasn't sure where the characters actually were, and so many different levels of betrayal that it was hard to know who to believe. The exploration of justice and revenge might have been handled a bit more deftly as well so that readers could consider the differences and how closely the lines between them may blur. Despite some of the book's flaws, I raced through it to see if my predictions were correct. less

Decent read, though I did see some of it coming. Worth a shot if the premise interests you.

That was very disappointing.. And the main protagonist just killed the book for me
