review 1: When I got about a third of the way through I remembered I has already read this book. I enjoyed it then so I kept reading. Connor is an ass. Typical bonehead Alpha. He came around in the end. Love the neanderthal reference from Liam. Very apt. Ana poor thing has suffered so much. She continues to suffer the whole book.Great story. Lots of things going on. Great adventure and action.Bring on book 2
review 2: I got into this book, but had some qualms. It does seem to follow along with the tropes a bit too much and doesn't really give a twist on where werewolves, etc. came from and how they hide in plain sight.The heroine's father, brothers, male pack mates, and pregnant female pack mates all died of poisoning just a few months before, leaving only some females. ... moreNo mention of any small children. There is not a lot of mourning, just trying to keep the bad neighbor shifter alpha from taking over. It was a pretty good read, but I'm not sure I want to read the rest in the series. My TBR pile (physically and on my e-reader) is so huge that I don't know if I want to make time for the next one. less
