review 1: I loved book three in this series.Ed is Blakes second in command at the publishing company.. He is a big bold cockney who everyone thinks straight, himself included, until he has a drunken fumble with his fello Rugby player friend the night Blake and Wills daughter is born.Colin has watched Ed longingly for over a year, on the rugby pich and in the showers. Ed comes on to him one night while he is drunk. Sparks do fly.I enjoyed reading Ed and Colins rommance unfold. Nothing was ever going to be straight forward with them. They do get it right in the end. I do love a HEA.There was a great plot and story line. I enjoyed reading more about Blake and Will, Rick and Angelo. I hope there are going to be more books in this series.
review 2: I was fortunate enough to w
... morein a copy of K.C. Wells Personal Secrets. It introduced me to a new world, one of rugby, several different classes of Brits, and much British slang (thank goodness for Google!). Although this book is the fourth in a series, it can be read as a stand-alone quite easily. The author does an excellent job of giving enough backstory on the characters that there is nothing missed by not having read the previous books, other than the pleasure of a good story. The two MCs are both amateur rugby players and meet through their team. Much of the book revolves around rugby and the potential homophobia in sports. Ed is a really big guy who does not realize he might be gay, while Colin is out and proud. This creates many problems for them, including several coming out scenes with various people in Ed’s life. The eventual resolution is not easy, but shows the growth of both characters. One of the elements of the book that I enjoyed was the alternating first-person POVs of Ed and Colin. K.C. will now go on my list of authors I follow. less
