review 1: When a very large egg hatches and a much larger than normal, chick emerges, all the other poultry are convinced that he cannot possibly be a chicken. He is misidentified as a squirrel, a sweater, and even an umbrella because of his actions. But after he rescues the eggs stolen by a fox, they all agree that he is simply a very, very large chicken. The illustrations, created with pencils and pixels, are lively and will keep readers engaged. This is a wonderfully delightful read aloud title, filled with humorous illustrations and witty observations about the intelligence of the chickens who jump to all sorts of conclusions based on what they are observing about that big chick.
review 2: A cute parody to the typical "Chicken Little" tale. Chicken big is the story o
... moref a chicken that quickly outgrows the chicken coop. His fellow chickens decide he cannot be a chicken. He must be a squirrel because he recognizes that the falling acorn is actually a tasty treat, he blocks the rain like an umbrella and the wind like a sweater, etc. However, when he saves the day, the chickens finally recognize him as one of their own. less
