review 1: I was given an ARC of this book, but I didn't realize this was part of a series. I read about half way through and was wondering why Rachael getting taken was only explained in a paragraph. I came on Amazon and found out there's a whole book about how that happened.The 'heat' was just ok. I think I might have been more into the book if the POV wasn't so confusing. It's in 2nd person point of view. Rachael often refers to 'you', which is Merrick. I had to reread a few parts because the point of view is one that I've never seen before, therefore making it slightly confusing.It's a short, quick read, but I just wish there was little more to the ending. I was thinking 'oh, thats all?" at how it ended.
review 2: Received this as a prepub and definitely feel I should... more have read the first boo in the series before starting this one. The story could have been more interesting, as the plot set up was there as was the great scene, but I didn't happen. At times I felt Maine was just timid to write a full blown erotic novel, so went to explicit romance instead. She had great bones Ifor this book and wish she would have filled it out. less
