review 1: I picked up this book after seeing it mentioned on a must read list of one of my fav authors. It is a fast read and I did find myself connecting to the characters; Alistairs is a handsome up and coming actor and "Black Betty" aka Bethany is a young woman trying to keep the power and control of her life in her own hands. The premise of this book/series is intriguing and definately pulls you in. I felt that it moved a little too fast and I wanted to see things developed a bit more. Maybe that is what the series has in mind to take us back to understand Bethany's past and what she is healing/escaping from. Alisters goes through a dramatic transformation and it is almost hard to see why he is willing to walk away from elements of his career based on what we have seen so far, m... moreaybe this will be built up as the series progresses. What I did like was the tasteful matter in which the story was written. I really would rate this a 3.5 if it were available. I will pick up the next edition to see how it developes to determine how much more time I will invest in this story; I'm not ready to give up on it just yet :)
review 2: I'm torn on how exactly to feel about this book. I definitely liked the premise: devilishly good lookin' playing has his world shifted on it's axis when he meets a beautiful dominatrix at his bachelor party. Alistair Ingram isn't really who he pretends to be, and neither is Black Betty aka Bethany. Alistair is jaded by his Hollywood lifestyle and Bethany has been wounded by the men of her past. These two come from completely different backgrounds bit couldn't be more perfect for each other to help each other heal and move on. And while I really like the book, I just thought that it moved way too fast and was a little less than believable that Bethany would choose to skip town with Alistair after only one day of knowing him. less
