review 1: This was such a fun little novella! With it being only a 100 pages long, I read through it pretty quickly and really enjoyed it. It was a modernised retelling of Alice in Wonderland, setting the scene of what would happen if Alice was to return to Wonderland. I really liked it. The characters were fun and quirky, I was intrigued by the events that had begun to unfold and am really looking forward to reading the next book. I loved how everything comes full circle in this book and am really intrigued about further character development. Really well written and an easy read, I'd recommend it for a quick dose of Alice-esque madness!
review 2: Okay, I'm intrigued. This little sample (100 pages!) of introduction has given me a glimpse of a Wonderland that is familiar... more enough for me to recognize it, but original enough that I am ready for an all new adventure. All of the players are new to the game, even if they have the original story to build on. I like the idea that the queens serve the land, and the relationships set up by this glimpse are kind of fascinating. I am still trying to figure out who Marc is (although I have two possible theories). I hope the second part does not take too long to come out, because I will have forgotten what's going on. less
