review 1: K picked this book up from our public library.I really liked how the author did a great job with showing kids that their parents which in this case is a mother use to act just like them. The pictures went great with what the author was telling us. The only problem I had was that I didn't know that it was told from a grandparent's point of view. Well the grandmother. It kind of confused K a bit. Though this book is a good way to bring together the memories of a grandmother to her daughter and from her to her daughter.
review 2: The illustrations are sweet, and I appreciated that sometimes the mommy was good and sometimes she wasn't (brought to mind the old Eloise Wilkin "Good Little Bad Little Girl" which I adored to pieces as a child) and also appreciated that
... moresometimes the girl dressed as a princess and sometimes as a robot. But I guess I wanted more clues that the images of the mommy as a little girl were set the past, though since they are more contemporary/generic, way they can be relevant to more generations. Also, the details seemed both too specific and not specific enough; this is kind of an impossible story to tell for everybody, isn't it? I hope that this prompts a lot of storytelling in families as they read it together. less

Would have been better read by her grandma, but sweet all the same.

Kids can relate. Thinking how much they are like their moms.
