review 1: I thought Walker did a great job with the characters and the way their past experiences made their current relationship so difficult. Angel's reactions are completely believable as those of someone who'd just escaped an abusive relationship - I loved that Walker explored those aspects of Angel's characters so thoroughly, it really brought Angel to life as a fully fleshed-out character. I had a hard time with some of the plot aspects of the suspense/action part of the book. I think I just needed more details to understand how it all played out and believe that it was all possible. A fun read.
review 2: The story is told in both Arion and Angel's POV. Periodically Angel will reminisce into her past relationship with Nick. Angel and Arion are computer gamers in t
... morehe game WarQuest. Angel stopped playing when she met Nick. The story is confusing in the beginning because you are left with the impression these two people know each other. Which they do that is in the computer world. Angel decided to leave her town and meet Arion in person. Not until you read further do you get a better understanding of what they mean to each other. Apparently they have been gaming together for two years. They also have been texting each other but never met each other in person. The flirting and the sexual innuendos is dragging on too long. I'm ready for some action. I'm ready for Angel to let her guard down and for Arion to step across the line. There are too many obstacles and then distractions that keep them from being together and it's getting annoying. The teasing and build up of arousal has gone on long enough. It's wearing on my patience. Finally they are together but Angel gets scared and wants space to think. Then Nick comes back inti the picture and threatens her life. A little adventure and some excitement occurs. But fir me its too late. I'm beyond impatient and cannot wait for the story to end. It dragged on for too long. First with Angel trying to decide what she meant to Arion. Then when she kept pushing him away. Finally when she ran away. Too many dramatic issues with Angel. The story was too long with the drawn out drama and the rush of Nick finding her. The premise for how they met was odd. I'm not a gamer, but I find it unrealistic to fall in love by gaming with someone whom you have never met. less
